The post-holiday blues won’t stand a chance with an incredible concert planned at ALT on Saturday, January 4th, at 2 PM! Kick off the new year with regional talent Thomas M. Taylor as he presents A Musical Journey Through Broadway’s Finest. This unique concert will take audiences on a trip through Broadway’s most iconic hits, from the golden age to contemporary masterpieces. Get ready to tap your toes, warm your heart, and cheer for more!
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! ALT has an action-packed January lined up, including the Midwest premiere of the comedy The Exes and the Studio Series in early February, which will feature new plays and visits from the playwrights who selected ALT to debut their works.
A Star-Studded Evening Awaits
The “Sing in the New Year” concert is more than just a performance. After the show, attendees are invited to a special reception where they can meet the star of the evening, Thomas M. Taylor, as well as ALT’s new Executive Director, Eric Sykes. Sykes will share his exciting vision for the second half of ALT’s 91st season, which includes many wonderful shows, opportunities to attend his own concert in March, and a sneak peek at ALT’s big summer musical!
A Broadway Spectacular to Start the Year Right
Taylor’s concert promises an eclectic mix of Broadway classics, including works from legendary composers like Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber. With a powerful voice and dynamic stage presence, Taylor will take audiences on a captivating journey celebrating the best of musical theater.
Reflecting on the upcoming concert, Taylor shared, “The phrase ‘so much music, so little time’ came to mind while preparing for this concert. Plus, there are a few surprises in store that I can’t wait to share with the audience.”

Alton Little Theater is back in action! Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Eddie Shollar and Berco Construction, critical repairs are underway, ensuring The Exes will premiere as planned from January 24th - February 2nd. The ALT community rallied together, shortening the downtime and bringing the laughs back sooner. With new restrooms, a hilarious show, and a supportive community, this small miracle showcases the power of teamwork,
